KALAHA'S WAHWAHWAH EP IS OUT
Second part of Kalaha's 2016 trilogy is called ”Wahwahwah” - an onomatopoeia that hints at the guitar sound used throughout the EP.
Just like the first part of the trilogy ”Quarquaba” the band have looked to Africa and Asia for inspiration and have blended this with elements from electronic music and jazz-rock.
Just this year the band have played at festivals in Denmark, Korea & China, and later this year will visit Poland, Belgium & Finland.

Kalaha Launches EP Trilogy
For the first time ever, the Danish band KALAHA has come together in the studio, resulting in an entire EP trilogy to be launched the 19th of February 2016.
The EP is a follow-up to the album ’Hahaha’, which was released in 2014 to glowing reviews. Danish magazine Soundvenue awarded 5 stars and wrote that the album was a proof ”that otherwise diverse genres can find each other in the most beautiful way.”
The band consists of 4 well-known Danish musicians Emil de Waal (drums) and Niclas Knudsen (guitar/Ibrahim Electric) and the two established electronic musicians Spejderrobot and Rumpistol.
On ‘Quarquaba’ they have let themselves be enthusiastically inspired by traditional music from both Africa and China, blended with retro-futuristic movements in electronic music and jazz.
The music bursts with great musical energy and precision without squandering its nerve and humour, as can also be seen in the music video of ‘Tippi Tabu’.
Video for "Eyes Open Wide" Out Today
Today sees the release of the new collaboration track from Rumpistol & Ane Trolle.
In the music video for “Eyes Open Wide” we meet a female sleepwalker who is drawn towards an illuminating cube on what looks like an alien planet.
Some might recognize the light construction as KUBE – a specially designed audio-visual concert installation that lately has become an integrated part of Rumpistol’s live show.

Rumpistol releases new single 22nd of January
On his new single ”Eyes Open Wide” the Danish one-man-army Rumpistol has invited acclaimed singer Ane Trolle into his dreamy sound-universe while at the same time seeking inspiration in the restless rhythms of the footwork/juke genre.
The choice of Ane Trolle as his collaborator was no coincidence; the two have known each other for a long time and grew up in the same folk music environment.
Just like Rumpistol, Ane Trolle has helped shaping the Danish - as well as the international musical - landscape over the last ten years, and her rough and vivid voice have reached a wide audience both through different collaborations and as a solo artist. You might know her voice from Trentemøller's hit ”Moan”.
The single is taken from a new EP which will arrive the 13th of May, 2016 on Rump Recordings.
It can be preordered from our BANDCAMP page.
